We Buy It Ourselves
Every product reviewed on Pawkeen is purchased at full retail price from Australian stores — Petbarn, PetCircle, Amazon AU, or direct. We never accept free samples or gifted products. Our reviews start the same way yours do: at the checkout.
We Actually Use It (2-4 Weeks Minimum)
Bruno (staffy mix), Mochi (Maine Coon), and Luna (tabby) are our full-time testers. Every product is used for at least 2 to 4 weeks in real Australian conditions — Queensland heat, Sydney humidity, Melbourne cold. No lab tests, no shortcuts.
We Score on 5 Criteria
Ingredients quality, value for money, taste/palatability (our pets decide), availability in Australia, and packaging/sustainability. Each criterion is scored 1-10. The overall Pawkeen Score is the weighted average.
We Publish the Bad Results Too
If a product fails, we say so — and we keep the review live. We never delete a negative review because a brand complained. Our affiliate commissions never influence ratings. Period.
We Update Regularly
Products change. Prices change. Formulas change. Every cornerstone review is re-tested and updated at least every 6 months. The "Updated" date you see is real — not a fake timestamp bump.
Our Affiliate Policy
